One valve between you and a very bad day
During a major storm, city sewers can fill faster than they drain. When that happens, the overflow looks for somewhere to go — and without protection, "somewhere" is your basement floor drain. A backwater valve is a simple one-way gate on your sewer line: wastewater flows out freely, but the moment flow reverses, a flap closes and holds the line. It's the single best flood insurance a GTA basement can buy.
What the job involves
