No water in a cold snap? Act now

When a tap goes dry in the middle of a GTA deep freeze, there's ice in a pipe somewhere — and ice expands. The window between "frozen" and "burst" is where we earn our keep. Call us the moment you notice: thawing a pipe safely before it splits is a far smaller job than repairing the flood after.

What we do

  • Locate the freeze — exterior walls, crawl spaces, garages and under kitchen sinks are the usual suspects
  • Thaw safely with controlled heat — no torches, no guesswork, no split pipes
  • Repair burst sections fast, including the ones you can't see yet
  • Prevent the repeat — insulation, heat cable, and rerouting chronically cold runs

While you wait for us

Open the affected tap so melting ice has somewhere to go. Open cabinet doors to let warm air at the pipes. A hair dryer on the exposed section is fine; a heat gun or open flame is how houses catch fire and pipes split — please don't. If you see water anywhere, shut off the main and treat it as an emergency call.

Stop it happening again

A pipe that froze once will freeze again — same wall, same wind, same forecast. After every thaw we show you exactly where and why it froze, and quote the permanent fix. For rural and older homes around Uxbridge especially, an hour of prevention in October beats an emergency in January every time.

Frozen Pipes questions

How do I know if a pipe has frozen or already burst?

No water at one fixture (or the whole house) in freezing weather points to a frozen line. If you hear hissing or see water once things warm up, it's burst. Either way, shut off the main and call — thawing the wrong way is how pipes split.

Can I thaw a frozen pipe myself?

Gentle heat (a hair dryer on the exposed pipe, cabinet doors open, tap slightly on) is fine. Never use an open flame, and stop if you can't reach the frozen section — hidden ice plugs are where bursts happen.

How do I stop pipes freezing again?

We insulate vulnerable runs, add heat cable where needed, and reroute the truly at-risk lines. After any thaw call we'll show you exactly which pipes froze and what would keep them from doing it again.
