When a tap goes dry in the middle of a GTA deep freeze, there's ice in a pipe somewhere — and ice expands. The window between "frozen" and "burst" is where we earn our keep. Call us the moment you notice: thawing a pipe safely before it splits is a far smaller job than repairing the flood after.

While you wait for us
Open the affected tap so melting ice has somewhere to go. Open cabinet doors to let warm air at the pipes. A hair dryer on the exposed section is fine; a heat gun or open flame is how houses catch fire and pipes split — please don't. If you see water anywhere, shut off the main and treat it as an emergency call.
